Job description

Henley & Partners, the global leader in residence and citizenship planning, is looking for an inspired, passionate, hardworking, junior PR co-ordinator to join its global marketing department in Cape Town.

The marketing department consists of four divisions: brand, events, PR and publishing. The role will report to the senior PR manager.

Job purpose:

Coordinate and implement PR programmes — including creating PR assets, managing media inquiries, maintaining the media database, media monitoring, and reporting, and coordinating the activities of the regional PR agencies.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Implement global PR tactical plan and programme
  • Assist with the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting requirements of the PR unit
  • Manage the media database in CRM, ensuring contacts are added and up-to-date
  • Manage all media inquiries on behalf of the group marketing department
  • Keep the H&P media guide updated
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of the country media packs
  • PR agency and regional teams support

Minimum level of education:

  • Tertiary education: A degree/diploma in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing

Prior experience: 

  • One to two years’ experience in any of the following: working in the media, PR agency or a marketing department within a corporate organisation

  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office and CRM
  • Competent in InDesign, Photoshop, or Adobe Acrobat
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (press releases, media articles, and business storytelling)
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Relationship management skills (client and media)
  • Social media skills (developing and scheduling posts, live-tweeting, community management)
  • Good international general knowledge
  • An interest in foreign investment, finance, economics, and migration
  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of how PR agencies operate
