Job Description Join Parmalat at our Bonnievale Plant as a Production Artisan in Cream Cheese department. Use your skills manage the production processes and personnel. Required Skills *Recognised dairy qualification in Gouda & Cheddar manufacturing.
*At least 3 years experiences in manufacturing of Gouda, Cheddar and Mozzarella or proses cheese making.
*Good interpersonal skills.
*Excellent problem solving skills.
*Technical knowledge of cheese-making equipment.
*Able to handle pressure.
*Able to work long hours, shifts, weekends and public holidays. *Motivate subordinates.
*Experience in MS Office.
Duties & Responsibilities *Analyse milk according to procedures
*Ensure that production equipment is setup correctly for production
*Develop, modify and apply ISO, HACCP and NOSA procedures
*Analyse production results either to improve or rectify problem areas or to see whether results are within specifications
*Ensure that set departmental goals and focus points are known to the production team by conducting daily and monthly meetings
*Complete job cards for repairs and maintenance of equipment and follow up to minimize breakdowns
*Complete daily cycle counts
*Ensure proper stock control and correct stock rotation
*Ensure relevant control documents are completed on time
* Analyse production results, identify problem areas and rectify to optimize and meet or better the goals on yield, grading, etc. on a monthly basis. *Ensure that set departmental goals and focus points are known to your team through daily and monthly meetings.
*Ensure that work requests for maintenance are carried out.
*Lead, coach and discipline subordinates when necessary.
*Ensure that products that leave department comply with specifications.
*Ensure that all control and check sheet are filled in on daily basis.
*Implement measure and maintain productivity.
*Measure and improve product and material waste.
*Maintain and improve quality systems.
*Control and record keeping of time and attendance.
*The artisan will be responsible for cleaning and organizing on his shift.
*Yield as a measure of cost control will be driven to the maximum.
