Senior Artisan Instrumentation

ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB 
To perform all artisan functions related to petrochemical plant instrumentation and control system maintenance, operations support and fault finding.

 

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

  • An ability to read and interpret instrument loop drawings, control logic diagrams, data sheets and associated technical documents
  • Utilization of and adherence to RCA procedures
  • Compliance to the MOC process for changes to existing plant and equipment
  • Control valve overhaul, inspection and test experience
  • DCS experience (Honeywell)
  • ESD experience (Honeywell)
  • PLC experience (Siemens, Yokagawa, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Allen Bradley)
  • A practical understanding of IS and SIL
  • A practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications
  • QA/QC experience with instrumentation installations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications :

-GR 12 Certificate with Maths, Science and English literacy

-NQF Level 4 instrument trade test certificate/Red Seal Certificate

-Driver’s license (code 08)

 

Experience :

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified artisan

  • Control valve overhaul, inspection and test experience
  • DCS experience (Honeywell)
  • ESD experience (Honeywell)

  • A practical understanding of IS and SIL
  • A practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications
  • QA/QC experience with instrumentation installations
  • Shutdown planning and execution experience
  • Full compliance to Sasol task risk assessments, work instructions and working procedures
  • Installation, testing and commissioning new/repaired instrumentation installations in accordance with Sasol specifications
  • An ability to make off instrumentation air tubing hook ups
