Position Details: Software Development Engineer Internship 2018

We will be running an Internship Programme from 01 September 2018 – 21 December 2018.

We are raising up an Agile delivery team of interns that will contribute meaningfully to our 2018 delivery goals while being mentored by Senior Software Development specialists and having access to training in technology and business-critical development processes.

We are looking for passionate, motivated and creative people that want to be part of something bigger than themselves and work with like-minded people to make their mark in 2018 and gain valuable real-world work experience.

We are building a team in the Java space although the technology stack that you will be exposed to will be more exotic than just Java. You will need to have experience crafting software in the Java language and be open to exploring others, e.g. Angular, Python.

You will thrive as a member of these teams if you enjoy collaborating with people and working as part of a close-knit team contributing to solutions.

Having fun is mandatory so don’t forget your sense of humor and a smile. Out of the box thinking and pondering new ideas while enjoying a game of ping-pong, mini-golf or one of our many board games in our rec area is encouraged.

What you will be doing

As part of an Agile delivery team you will work in a Scrum environment and collaborate with a Product Owner, Technical mentors and other team members to contribute towards our production software. You won’t just be writing code but also be learning about Scaled Agile implementations, Scrum, Lean, XP practices and good design patterns and engineering habits.

What you need to apply

    • Looking to complete your Work Integrated Learning for a 4-month period in order to complete your studies.
    • A concise CV (including cover letter stating what it is about the Information Technology space that excites you)
    • Knowledge & Experience writing software using Java
    • A curious mind

We are not looking for

  • Someone that is in technology field because the accounting class was full.
  • Someone that wants to be spoon-fed and is not interested in applying their mind.
