Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, and working a two (2) weeks in / two (2) weeks out rotation at the tharisa Mine site, the position will be responsible to install, maintain and repair site electrical equipment to a safe, functional and reliable condition. The ideal candidate would be one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing timely inspections, testing and accurately reporting equipment deficiencies;
Installing electrical equipment per trade code and industry design specifications;
Establishing and maintaining a working customer relationship with operations through timely response and communication on critical equipment breakdown priority;
Staying abreast of all relevant legal and legislative requirements, and ensure compliance;
Assisting in the scoping, planning and execution of major repairs; and
Strictly adhering to De Beers Canada’s safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and culture.
Requirements For Tharisa Mine Vacancies :
Possess a valid Inter-provincial electrical trade qualification certificate;
Minimum four (4) years industrial experience, preferably in a process plant setting;
Completion of an electrical technical/technology program is an asset;
Experience with Medium Voltage Equipment and safe work practices;
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications; and
Familiarity with CSA-Z462, proof of ACR Flash Training and experience working in a cross-cultural (Aboriginal) environment would all be considered assets.
